René explains that Kim visited Mújol's restaurant posing as a health inspector, giving him access to the hammer and gloves. Mickey realizes Kim was bribed by Grant and equally threatened by Bondurant, but Cisco learns Kim has gone missing.
Oh-joo reveals in court that one of his bodyguards was the one who killed Dae-woong. This bodyguard turns himself in after Oh-joo promises to care for his family. The public believes Oh-joo had nothing to do with the murder, and revealed it demodé of a sense of honor. The media and the public praise him, to the anger of Moon-sook. Sang-pil is freed, but he and Jae-yi begin to suspect that Moon-sook is using their actions for her own ends. Sang-pil starts to worry that his goal of revenge will bring too much pain to Jae-yi.
When Grant attempts to suppress the subpoena, Mickey uses media pressure and Bondurant's threatening email to goad him into agreeing to testify at trial, but Judge Medina tells Mickey he will need further evidence of Grant's involvement. Cisco discovers that Henry's executive producer works for Grant, and Mickey confronts Henry, who admits he stole the contract but denies arranging Mickey's assault. Mickey and Maggie spend a passionate night together, but she reveals she has accepted a promotion in Santo Diego and cannot continue their on-off relationship.
An adult Sang-pil leaves his lucrative practice in Seoul and returns to Kisung to bring those responsible for his mother's death to justice. He takes over a loan shark business and converts it into the Lawless Law Firm. Abogados Palermo Capital Federal Jae-yi, who has been suspended from practicing law after assaulting a judge, loses her job, and also returns home to Kisung.

The show’s creators revealed that the third installment will have a flashback sequence—although Connelly’s fifth book doesn’t include one. “We decided that a fun (and poignant) way to come into the season would be via a flashback sequence that gave us some insight into how Mickey Haller became Mickey Haller — not just the brilliant criminal defense lawyer, but the husband, the father, and the man that he would come to be.”
